3D Known Distance shootout – Curlewis
Camping is available at the Recreational Grounds, and the Ranges are 6 minutes by car from there.
***RULES***
*25 targets per day
*shotgun start both days
*muster Saturday 8.30am, Sunday 7.30am
*groups will be made up by organisers (using an assignment sheet that archers can request their groups with)
*Scoring both lower and upper 12, but to score the upper 12 the archer must call the upper 12, if the upper 12 is called the lower 12 is no longer in play.
*10,8 and 5 will also be used.
*Top 10 Barebow Top 10 Sighted and Top 5 Female (If a Female qualifies in both, they can shoot in both)
*Top 10 shoot out Saturday afternoon with the score from the Saturday 25 targets carried into the top 10 shootout and used to determine the winner.
*14 ring will be in play for the Top 10 and Top 5 shootouts
*3DAAA shoot fees apply
*All other 3DAAA rules apply unless stated in this rules sheet.

45yds- Green stake
40yds- Red stake

CUBJ- shoot from wherever comfortable
**Men’s open 50yds
A compound shot with no restrictions on sights, stabilisers, or style of release. Men’s Open archers will shoot from the Blue stake; maximum 50 yards.
**Female open 40yds
A compound shot with no restrictions on sights, stabilisers, or style of release. Female Open archers will shoot from the Red stake; maximum. 40 yards.
**Male pins 45yds
A compound shot with no restrictions on stabilisers, or style of release. A sight shall have fixed pin, or cross hairs, with or without a lens or magnification. Sights may not be adjusted after entering the shooting course. Men’s Pins archers will shoot from the Green stake; maximum 45 yards.
**Female pins 35yds
A compound shot with no restrictions on stabilisers, or style of release. A sight shall have fixed pin, or cross hairs, with or without a lens or magnification. Sights may not be adjusted after entering the shooting course. Female Pins archers will shoot from the Yellow stake; maximum 35 yards.
**Fingers 35yds
Finger Class is open to both Male and Female. A compound or recurve shot with no restriction on sights or stabilisers. Must be shot with fingers directly contacting the bowstring using a glove, finger tab, or bare fingers. Finger archers will shoot from the Yellow stake; maximum 35 yards.
**Barebow 30yds
Barebow Class is open to both Male and Female. A compound shot with fingers directly contacting the bowstring using a glove, finger tab, or bare fingers. No sighting device of any kind may be used. A rest and plunger are all that may reside within the sight window of the bow. There shall be no markings on the bow or bowstring that could be construed as sighting marks. Face and/or string walking are permitted in this class. Barebow archers will shoot from the Orange stake; maximum 30 yards.
**Seniors 45yds
Senior Class is open to both Male and Female and is an optional class for archers fifty (50) years of age or older. Equipment shall consist of a compound shot with no restrictions on sights, stabilisers or style of release. Senior archers will shoot from the Green stake; maximum of 45 yards.
**Senior masters 40yds
Senior master Class is open to both Male and Female. Senior Masters is an optional class for archers sixty five (65) years of age or older. Equipment shall consist of a compound shot with no restrictions on sights, stabilisers or style of release. Senior Master archers will shoot from the Red stake; maximum of 40 yards.
**Trad 30yds
Trad Class is open to both Male and Female. A recurve or longbow shot with fingers directly contacting the bowstring using a glove, finger tab, or bare fingers. Archers may use up to two (2) nock locating devices, but they must use the same nocking point and anchor point for each shot and the index finger must contact the string in the same place for each shot. The index finger must touch the nock of the arrow. Face and/or string walking are NOT permitted. No sighting device of any kind may be used. There shall be no markings on the bow or bowstring (intentional or accidental) that could be construed as sighting marks. No type of draw check or clicker may be used. All arrows must be the same length and weight. Aluminium or carbon arrows must have screw-in field points; wood arrows may have glue-on points. All arrows must have at least three (3) feathers or vanes no less than four (4) inches long. No stabilizers, counterbalances, or weights of any kind may be attached or built into the bow, except a quiver clearly designed to hold arrows. Arrows shall be shot off the hand or shelf of the riser only. An arrow side plate (if used) may only extend one (1) inch above the arrow. The shelf may be built up and the side plate may be built out with a hard material that has a minimal consistency of wood. The shelf and side plate may be covered with a softer material that is no thicker than 1/8 inch.
TRAD archers will shoot from the Orange stake, maximum 30 yards.
NOTE: STRING WALKING & FACE WALKING ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THIS CLASS.
**Recurve 30yds
Recurve Class is open to both Male and Female. A recurve without a sighting device. A rest and plunger are all that may reside within the sight window. A clicker is allowed but must not be mounted in the sight window of the riser. There will be no markings on the bow or on the bowstring that could be construed as sighting marks. Must be shot with a glove, finger tab or bare fingers. The arrow shall be of the same material and in uniform length and weight. A stabilizer measuring 12” or less may be used in Recurve class. Recurve Archers will be shot from the Orange stake; maximum of 30 yards.
NOTE: STRING WALKING AND FACE WALKING WILL BE ALLOWED IN THIS CLASS.
**Hunter Class 40yds
Hunter Class is open to both Male and Female. A compound shot with or without sights. A sight shall have fixed pins, cross hairs, without lens or magnification. A sight may have a rear aperture (i.e. peep sight or fixed rifle type sight). Sights may not be adjusted after entering the shooting course. Arrows must have screw in points and at least three (3) feathers or vanes of no less than two (2) inches long. All arrows must weigh 7gns per pound, and will be checked. Only one stabilizer or stabilizer system having a single point of attachment may be used. The stabilizer can be any shape or configuration as long as it is contained within a theoretical sphere having a radius of 12 inches measured from the point of attachment. Additional V-bars, counter balances, or weighted attachments are prohibited. Un-weighted vibration dampers are not considered to be stabilisers. May be shot with release aid, finger tab, or glove. Hunter Class archers will shoot from the Red stake; maximum of 40 yards.
**Youth male 35yds
Youth male 13-17 is for archers thirteen (13) to seventeen (17) years of age. Equipment shall consist of a compound, recurve or longbow shot with no restriction on sights, stabilisers, or style of release. Youth Male archers will shoot from the Yellow stake; maximum of 35 yards.
**Youth Female 30yds
Youth Female is for female archers thirteen (13) to seventeen (17) years of age. Equipment shall consist of a compound, recurve, or longbow shot with no restriction on sights, stabilisers or style of release. Youth Female archers will shoot from the Orange stake; maximum of 30 yards.
**Cub aided 25yds
Cub Aided Class is open to both Male and Female. A bow with a sight; can be shot with a release aid, glove, finger tab or bare fingers.Cub Aided archers will shoot from the White stake; Maximum of 25 yards.
**Cub unaided 25yds
Cub Unaided Class is open to both Male and Female. A bow without a sight; must be shot with a glove, finger tab or bare fingers. Cub Unaided archers will shoot from the White stake; maximum of 25 yards.
**Cub female 25yds
A bow with or without a sight; can be shot with a release aid, glove, finger tab or bare fingers. Cub Female archers will shoot from the White stake; maximum of 25 yards
**Cub Junior – no set distance
8 years or under. A bow with or without a sight; can be shot with a release aid, glove, finger tab or bare fingers. Cub Junior archers will shoot from where ever they are comfortable
